Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has brought changes to the meaning of media in the lecture process. Media lectures in face-to-face shifts to online media. The internet as the basis for online media plays an important role so that the lecture process can continue even though it is not possible to meet face-to-face. Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) Theory explains that the successful use of computers as a medium of long-distance communication is influenced by motivation, knowledge and skills. The success of the use of computer media includes efficiency, understanding of the message content, understanding, and satisfaction from the communication. While the level of success is determined by the type of media, message content and context. ASMI Santa Maria Yogyakarta, started distance lectures in the middle of the even semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year. Lecturers are given the freedom to choose the media used, both as a means of lecturing, delivering material, assignments and as a discussion forum. The most widely used media platforms are Whatsapp Group and Google classroom. The selection of the type of media is determined by how accessible the media is, the ease of delivering information, materials and tasks, and how interactions can be built through the media. Based on this research, it is necessary to conduct further research related to the effectiveness and further development of media.
