Abstract

The Central Bureau of Statistics of Purbalingga Regency is a nonministerial government agency that uses a website as a medium of public information. The use of the website is expected to accelerate the interaction process between the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Purbalingga Regency and the public. The website is used by the Central Bureau of Statistics of Purbalingga Regency to assist the tasks of Public relations (PR) in terms of delivering information to public. Public information is information that is generated, stored, managed, sent, and/or received by a public agency related to the organizers and administration of other public bodies. This study discusses the extent to which Website Management as a Public Information Media by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Purbalingga. The data Collecting method used in this research is observation, interview, documentation and participation. The results of the research related to the management of the website as a medium of public information which is the responsibility of the Integrated Management and Dissemination of Statistics Division is a change in communication patterns due to the internet so that the Central Bureau of Statistics of Purbalingga Regency can quickly disseminate information to the public, and the public can easily access the information anywhere and anytime. A website is the most adequate medium in providing public information because it can be accessed by anyone and anywhere.
