Abstract

For decades, the condition of education in Indonesia has always changed along with the change of government. There has never been a decree of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in terms of ministers making continuous or sustaible decrees in the field of education. Each new minister has different rules from the previous minister. This makes it difficult for educators who have to deal directly with students. There is always a tug of war with the Western-style education model and East. If this condition is left unchecked, it will have a negative impact on education in Indonesia. The condition of education in the millennial era must be an adaptive education system based on digital technology that does not come from the West. It should be understood that technology is a tool to achieve the perfection of a person's life. Thus, the element of human resources is the main determinant in the sustainability of life. So it is necessary to form a character with a humanist personality. The educational model inherited by Ki Hajar Dewantara has a strong foundation in implementing and developing education rooted in the Earth of the archipelago to be the best solution in Indonesia. In his teachings, he always prioritizes education with humanist and spiritualist roots in the archipelago's culture, and always respects humans as the subject and balance of the universe.
