Abstract

Office Administration Study Program of ASM Marsudirini Santa Maria Yogyakarta has been implementing the Independent Learning curriculum since 2021. Based on the Curriculum, the fourth semester students who meet the requirements are given the option to carry out learning activities outside campus, one of which is internship. In the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, 30 students chose 23-week-internships carried out in 6 institutions, whether public or private ones. Based on the results of the questionnaire given to the intern students after completing their internship, the students’ feelings when participating in the internship activities show 53.3% students feel happy and 20% students feel quite happy. No students feel unhappy or dissatisfied. Related to soft skill aspects, during internship, students show 15 soft skills, but the most frequently ones are responsibility, self-confidence, discipline, good communication skills and thoroughness. Meanwhile, related to hard skill aspects, knowledge and skills most frequently used are related to advanced-Microsoft Excel, negotiation, telephoning using applications, handling complaints, multi-tasking skills, photography, videography, website management, cover design, and label making. Concerning the sustainability and feasibility of internship, students state that the internship program is worth continuing because they can practice directly in the real work, increase the knowledge of the real work, increase relationships, as well as develop and practice the competencies learned in campus.
