Abstract

This research aims to provide empirical evidence regarding the effect of ownership concentration on financial performance in all companies for the 2016-2020 period. The data used in this research is secondary data, namely the company's annual financial report. Data was obtained from the official website of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) and the websites of each company. The dependent variable in this research is financial performance (tobins-q) measured by equity market value and debt to total assets. The independent variable in this research is ownership concentration which is measured using the largest share ownership percentage of total shares outstanding. The data was processed using IBM SPSS Statistics 21. The results of this study show that ownership concentration has a positive effect on financial performance (tobins-q). Hypothesis testing provides evidence that companies that implement ownership concentration tend to have better financial performance.
