Abstract
The rapid growth of tertiary institutions in Indonesia has consequences for high competition among tertiary institutions. Each tertiary institution strives to show itself as a quality and competitive tertiary institution. The problem that arises is how to build an image and communicate to various types of public. The implementation of public relations in tertiary institutions is one way to build the image of tertiary institutions, provided that the public relations practices carried out are in accordance with the conditions and demands of the tertiary institution. Several models of public relations can be applied in educational institutions. The pr model shows evolution, or designates pr practices that continue to develop from simple forms to complex and ideal forms.
