Abstract

The target group of this empoweering program is for Kelompok Wanita Tani Mentari (KWT-women group of farmer) who lived in Kinahrejo Village, Umbulharjo Cangkringan Sleman DIY. KWT Melati is an alternative for women since Merapi eruption in 2010, because Kinahrejo is one of disaster area. During their stay in terminal shelter, KWT Melati has done economic activities, including cultivation of mushrooms but in small scale. After moving to fixed shelter, people have to think their new livelihoods. So, the people need change their mindset from farm to another livelihoods. The empowering program mainly aims at supporting the women group find the new alternatives. Technically, the empowering program is held by cultivating and giving added value of the mushrooms. The extention of mushrooms cultivation is done by adding the amount of baglog and by developing tools. Added value of mushrooms is done by producing instant mushrooms to consumed forms. Empowering is given in the form of techical assitant of production, marketing strategy, and adding the tools of production. Keywords: Livelihoods, alternatives, mushrooms cultivation
