Abstract

Judging from UU Republik Indonesia Nomor 43 Tahun 2009 tentang Kearsipan (the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 43, 2009 about Filing), the implementation of archival storage at ASMI Santa Maria Yogyakarta still needs to be developed to make it more useful to assist management and employees in carrying out in maintaining and developing the organization. The development based on the elements associated with archive storage. The proposed forms of development are : (1) classifying the archives stored into vital archives, active archives, inactive archives, and static archives; (2) establishing archival institution, archival unit, and determining the room or filing cabinets to store archives, vital archives, active archives, inactive archieves, and static archieves; (3) keeping records with regard records retention schedules, procedures and sistematic method of filing; (4) determining the classification of archives, records retention schedules, and security sistems and access to archives; (5) developing human resources; (6) providing and developing the infrastructure and facilities in accordance with the advancement of information and communication technology; and (7) allocating funds in the budget plan as needed for the development of archival storage.
