Abstract

This research aims at describing the influence of slogan in pamphlet/brochure of ASMI Santa Maria Yogyakarta to the society especially for the students candidate who will study in this academy. It is important because pamphlets/brochures as one of tools to inform and get the new students. The use of slogan in the pamphlet/brochure is very important because it always their to achieve their future. There are many slogans to use in the universities and every slogan represent their university's character to achieve their vision and mission. Usually to make a slogan people use interesting words and to make it, the use a language style (gaya bahasa). Actually, sometimes society is persuaded by the words of the advertisements of the pamphlet/brochures. ASMI Santa Maria Yogyakarta has 3 slogans and it is in the pamphlet/brochure. Only one slogan that is the first slogan us a language style and it appropriate with the character of the academy. Using word 'skills' indicates the vocational program of the academy. The second and third slogan, it is better to omit second and third slogan because it has high consequences for the academy. If academy wants to make a good slogan, must make one slogan and use a simple language but interesting word. By this way, it will be easy for the society to remember and it will always be in their mind for a long term. So the academy has some benefits by it.
