Abstract
The phenomenon of klithih is known in Yogyakarta as a form of juvenile delinquency that has a highly negative impact on the city, which is renowned as the City of Students. Although klithih originally meant simply strolling around, gathering, and socializing with friends, over the past decade, this activity has evolved into criminal behavior that threatens both property and lives. Several factors contribute to klithih, including shifts in family roles, social environment, peer influence, social media, and the internal conditions of the youth involved. This paper aims to reassess the roles of parents, schools, and the community in minimizing klithih behavior and its impact in Yogyakarta. While numerous studies have emphasized the importance of these three elements, klithih incidents continue to occur. The findings of this paper suggest that families, schools, and communities must optimize their respective roles more effectively. Additionally, efforts to combat klithih should adopt a more collaborative approach, involving synergy with other parties such as the government and law enforcement.
