Abstract

The acceleration of information technology has brought about major changes in the free flow of information. The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) is a global problem arising when information technology accelerates rapidly. Consequently, the ability to access, retrieve, understand, evaluate, create and share information in all formats in a critical, ethical and effective way, is very much needed during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, COVID-19 literacy equipped by media and information literacy needs to be the good habits of every citizen so that the COVID-19 pandemic problem can be mitigated and immediately addressed. The COVID-19 pandemic has the potential to hit the economy and development globally and has hit various sectors in almost all countries, including Indonesia. Therefore, quick, precise, focused, integrated, and synergic steps between ministries institutions and local governments are needed so that the impact of COVID-19 in Indonesia can be immediately addressed in terms of humanity, social, economic, and financial aspects.
