Abstract

The company’s ability to result in profit will influence the company’s capital structure. This research aims at verifying empirically factors influencing profitability. The data used are 1,320 of 88 manufacturing companies issuing complete financial statements in Indonesia Capital Market Directory starting from the year of 2000 up to 2014. The analysis result of the period of the year of 2000 up to 2004 shows that investment, size, and liquidity influence positively toward profitability; debt and structure of assets influence negatively toward profitability; bussiness risk, dividend, sales growth, variability of earnings and q ratio do not infence profitability. The analysis result of the period of 2005 up to 2009 shows that dividend, sales of growth, size, liquidity, and q ratio influence positively toward profitability; debt, business risk, and structure of assets influence negatively toward profitability; investment, and variability of earnings do not influence profitability. Analysis result of the period of the year of 2010 up to 2014 shows that size and q ratio influence positively toward profitability; debt and structure of assets influence negatively toward profitability; investment, business risk, dividend, sales growth, variability of earnings, and liquidity do not influence profitability. Analysis result of the period of the year of 2000 up to 2014 shows that investment, sales growth, size, and q ratio influence positively toward profitability; debt, business risk, and structure of assets influence negatively toward profitability; dividend, variability of earnings, and liquidity do not influence profitability.
