Abstract
Indonesian business world has not been spared from the spotlight. This is because the practices by business people (producers) are not commendable and the lack of attention and the government's treatment of the people (consumers). Collusion, and mark-ups practices in turn harm consumers. Here we can see how weak the position of the consumer is in front of manufacturers as well as in obtaining treatment from the government. In this situation awareness of the importance of consumer rights is badly needed. Busines people need to be informed about consumer rights for purchasing goods or services, and how to use those rights. On the other hand the government is expected to have responsibility to consumers, by giving equal attention to both the producers and consumers.
