Abstract

Leadership determines organization progress. The essence of leadership is influencing followers. In organization, of course, the influence of the leader is to achieve organizational goal. Influencing others are not simple things, but are more complex problems. As influencers, the leaders need to be trusted. Followers can be productive if only they have high level of trust to the leader. So, the leader has to maintain trust. The organization will succeed when the leaders are trusted leaders. The are relations between trustee and trustor. The leader is trustee, and followers are trustors. To be trusted leader, at least there are two main factors that determined. First, antecedents factors and the second, mediator factors. Three aspects of antecedents are ability, benevolence, and integrity of the trustee’s characteristics. Three levels of mediators are individual level, team level, and organizational level. Trust level to the trustee is determined by both factors. Finally, organizational performance and reputation are impacts of trust level to trustor to the leaders as trustees.
