Abstract

Credit Union (CU) is a financial institution managed to educate the members to manage their finance and prosper them as well. Not all CUs, however, are able to achieve their goals. Therefore, their quality should be assessed. There are some aspects which can be used to assess a CU; one of them is its independency and growth. Through this aspect, CU's ability to generate the rest of the business results - either to manage and develop the institution independently, pay dividends to the members, or fund all the needs of the operating expenses - canbe seen. Also, ratio of asset rentability and ratio of rentability of self capital showing a CU's ability to make a profit can be known. This ratio is important to know the level of cU's performance based on its rentability level. This way, people will know whether the condition of a CU is good or bad, so that its sustainability can be estimated.
