Abstract
Office employees are very important assets for the company. Works office performed by employees of the office is identical with the management of corporate information. Characteristics of office work is service and be done routinely and repeatedly. The impact of repetitive office works is the tendency of declining of employment initiative from office employee. Decline in employment initiative is one of indications of declining of office employee performance. Employee work initiative in BAA ASMI Santa Maria Yogyakarta is understtod as the responsiveness of the employee on the job. Employees may do the work outside the main job, without waiting for orders from the management, so that the problems might not arise. The factors that drive employee work initiatives at BAA ASMI Santa Maria Yogyakarta are the motivation and responsibility of employees to do the work outside of the job description, the awareness of employees to perform the work outside the main job, the skill of the employees in doing the work, and desire to harmonize the relationship between employees. Management of the company need to make effort to encourage the employment initiative of office employee. The effort that can be carried out by the management of the company, are : creating the company management that is not too maintaining the authority or is too scary, viewing office employees as a valuable corporate asset that has desire and expectation, involving employees in decision-making on the office problems, making the promotion and transfer program of office employees.
